Trick or Treat '12 is a new point and click Halloween themed escape game from twinkle. Halloween 2012 is almost here and escape game developers has their own treats for us. This is one of them, but one may also consider this some sort of a trick because it's quite challenging.

Anyways, since I don't want to trick people into reading a long ass review about the game while they are in fact in search of Trick or Treat '12 walkthrough, here's a video guide publicly available on the youtubes.

All-new details, concepts leaked for Bungie's 'Destiny'

To contact us Click HERE

There's been plenty of speculation surrounding Destiny, Bungie's follow-up game to the Halo franchise, but today a batch of new materials leaked to the IGN giving fans insight into the game's story and concept.

Although the document was brought to light by a reader, Bungie has confirmed that it was prepared by an advertising agency and "represents an outside look at Destiny's plot, key values, and more."

It begins with a story overview which you can read below.

Our story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man’s Golden Age. A massive, mysterious alien ship hangs overhead like a second Moon. No one knows where it came from or what it’s here for, but only that it’s our protector. Meanwhile, strange, alien monsters creep in from the edge of the universe, determined to take Earth and the Last City. We are young ‘knights’ tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters and – eventually – overcoming it.” Elsewhere in the document, the massive alien ship is referred to as “the Traveler.

Elsewhere in the document, Bungie co-founder Jason Jones describes, "Destiny is designed for your inner seven year old. We want to make it feel like a mythic adventure."

Destiny is described as "fun and accessible to all," with an aim to "create a universe as deep, tangible, and relatable as that of the Star Wars franchise."

Anytime you relate something to Star Wars, you're setting yourself up for some lofty goals. If any studio can pull this type of thing off, though, it's Bungie - the developer of Microsoft's now iconic franchise Halo.

In terms of gameplay, Destiny is "social at its core," offering a "world to explore with friends, both old and new."

The document was also said to include a Destiny logo along with Xbox 360 and PS3 icons, as well as the URL "Destiny.com" which currently leads to a password-protected site.

Bungie has responded since the leak, updating their blog with one piece of concept art; IGN has several more through the link above. Bungie also wrote, "Go ahead. Take a peek. It’s alright. We weren't quite ready, but we will be soon, and we can’t wait to finally show you what we've really been up to. Stick around, we haven’t even started yet."

Maybe Bungie will get started at the Spike VGAs on December 7? Given the project's expected launch next year and the timing of the leak, Destiny seems primed for a VGAs reveal. Host Geoff Keighly certainly seemed to have a suspicious reaction to the leak, tweeting, "Well that just happened."

We can't wait to hear more! What are your initial thoughts on Destiny?

Unchained Blades

Xseed Games is considering a localization of Unchained Blades Exxiv for North America.

Exxiv is the sequel to Unchained Blades, which released for PSP in June and is coming to the 3DS eShop. "We have to work through a lot of technical hurdles for the eShop release of Unchained Blades," executive vice president Ken Berry told Siliconera. "We could be looking at an early December release if things continue to go well.”

The publisher announced the sequel back in May, scheduling it for a fall release in Japan. In response to a fan who asked about a localization, Xseed wrote on its Facebook, "We’re still struggling to get the original out on 3DS first," said Berry. "After that’s finally out the door — hopefully December — then maybe we can start thinking about the sequel.”

Nintendo sells 400K Wii U units in first week

Wii U Image

In its first week of release in the United States, Nintendo has sold 400,000 Wii U units. Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed today that during the last week, U.S. hardware sales for Nintendo products — including Wii U, Wii, 3DS, and DS —have surpassed 1.2 million units.

The Wii U's sales success was limited only by Nintendo's failures to provide enough consoles for retailers to meet demand.

"Wii U is essentially sold out of retail and we are doing our best to continually replenish stock," Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime said in an interview with CNET. "Retailers are also doing their best to get the product to store shelves. But as soon as product hits retail, they're selling out immediately."

Nintendo also had a good week with its handhelds as well, with the 3DS and DS selling 250,000 and 275,000 units respectively. The original Wii, meanwhile sold moved 300,000 units.

Despite the shortages, Nintendo has to be thrilled with the initial consumer reception to the Wii U. Although it failed to outsell the original Wii (which sold 475,000 units during its first week back in 2006), demand for the Wii U remains strong. Unlike its predecessor, however, Fils-Aime doesn't expect the same sort of shortages experienced with the Wii.

"You couldn't walk into a retailer and buy a Wii until spring of 2009. We've certainly learned many lessons from that and we are replenishing retailers more quickly this time around. We are looking to have as much product into retail as possible. It's driven by consumer response," Fils-Aime said.

Did you already pick up a Wii U or do you have plans on getting one this holiday season?

Zelda II - The Adventure of Link Image

With all the Thanksgiving hubbub that went on over the past few days, I figured I'd wait to post my very important weekly update on Nintendo's downloadable games. Also, I was lazy. (Also, I forgot to do it on Thursday.) In any case, we've got four new 3DS and DSi titles, so check 'em out here.

First up is Crashmo on the 3DS eShop. The game is priced at $8.99 and features block-pushing gameplay akin to its successful predecessor Pushmo. There's also Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link for $4.99, and really, that's just a lovely and criminally underrated game.

DSiWare's got two games of its own, though they seem very similar. You can get Spirit Hunters Inc: Light and Spirit Hunters Inc: Shadow for 800 DSi Points ($7.99 on the eShop) each and capture critters through the wonders of augmented reality. These games almost seem like the capture sequences in Denpa Men.

Treyarch working on Black Ops 2 leaderboard issues

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Image

Upon logging into Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, you may have noticed an issue with the leaderboard statsbeing reset in the multiplayer and Zombies modes. Treyarch is reportedly "aware" of the issues and working to fix them.

While players' combat records still show the total time played, as well as their kill/death ratio and win/loss ratios, these aren't reflected in the leaderboard stats. Given the competitive nature of many Call of Duty players, it's easy to understand their frustrations. Treyarch hasn't ignored their complaints.

"Since this morning's backend update, we've been made aware of leaderboard issues that some are having," Treyarch said. "Currently working through server side issues re leaderboards."

"They'll be re-enabled as soon as we've fixed the issue," Treyarch concluded. Unfortunately, the studio could offer no timetable for when the leaderboard issue would be fixed. We hope it's soon, but we'll be sure to keep you updated.

Tomb Raider campaign to last about 12-15 hours, sequel possibly planned

To contact us Click HERE

Here's a shocker: if Tomb Raider does well in sales then we can expect a sequel. As if we didn't already know that?

Earlier on the Tomb Raider Twitter, Crystal Dynamics' — the studio developing the upcoming series reboot — global brand director Karl Stewart responded to a few fan questions regarding play time, a potential sequel, and much more.

During the session, Stewart revealed that Tomb Raider's campaign will take roughly 12 to 15 hours-plus to complete "depending on your play style". Given the non-stop action we've been shown to date that seems like the perfect time. Any longer and we might get a little worn out from the constant explosions and shaky camera.

And because we live in a day and age where sequels are almost always a guarantee, Stewart was asked if Tomb Raider will be getting one. "Why of course", he responded, provided the game is successful.

Other details confirmed include Lara Croft's regenerative health and her ability to swim (although swimming won't be present in the game). There will also be "plenty of twists" in the storyline.

Tomb Raider is set to release on March 5, 2013. You can check out our preview of the game here.

Review: Hitman Absolution is deadly, clean and precise

Hitman: Absolution

Agent 47 is initially tasked to take down his main handler, after she's been accused of treason, as well as capture and deliver a young girl who is extremely important to the Agency. Things take a turn however and you'll find yourself protecting this young girl and turning on the Agency you once vowed to work for.

You'll get accustomed to the changes through the initial level, which expertly weaves a tutorial in the midst of your objectives. Agent 47 has some clever new tricks up his sleeve that will make assassinating his enemies that much satisfying. First and foremost, he has the ability to take cover behind objects, as well as move from cover to cover unseen. A cover system is far from anything original, however it is new to the Hitman series, and it does make that clunky sneaking around from past games seem rather seamless.

hitman

The unfortunate first target of your Silverballers

Another new and important feature is Instinct. Somewhat similar to Eagle vision in Assassin's Creed, various key items, weapons, and your mark are highlighted in yellow. It even allows you to see enemies behind walls, as well as their walk path, and allows you to slip past enemies when in disguise without arousing suspicion. New players will undoubtedly rely on Instinct as a crutch through many levels, although it's important to note it's not entirely necessary, and playing the game on higher difficulty levels limits the amount you can use it.

However the best feature of Hitman: Absolution has to be the way it handles level objectives. Much like Dishonored, which allowed you to dispose of your enemies in multiple, creative ways, Hitman strives to do the same thing, and on a large part succeeds. In past Hitman games, it was mostly up to the player to figure out creative ways to dispose of your mark, without much guidance. Absolution doesn't necessarily hold your hand, but it does give hints on how to proceed with multiple ways to eliminate your target. A quick glance at your checklist will show you the different ways you can accomplish your goal, however it doesn't exactly tell you how to go about it.

absolution

The best instance of this is in the King of Chinatown level, due to the fact it's one of the shortest levels in the game, and thus allows you to hop right back in and experiment with the different ways of disposing of your target. For instance, you come across your target, and you can immediately aim at his head and BAM, escape from the authorities and you've won the mission. However you can come right back and do it differently. Find the sniper rifle and assassinate him from a window, push him into a trash compactor, poison the Chinese food he orders, poison the heroin he orders from his drug dealer, hell even impersonate his drug dealer! There is so much variety in just this single level, and it all translates into each subsequent level after that.

It truly pays off to go back and replay levels to not only experience it in a different way, but improve your assassin score. This scoring mechanic is Absolution's way of ranking players of how well they do. Getting spotted and needlessly killing enemies who aren't your primary target will award you with negative points, but successfully sneaking past sentries, killing your mark without being seen, and using various disguises awards you with massive points. It's up to you to decide whether killing a guard, and losing a few hundred points is worth it, in order to fulfill your mission and get rewarded with tons of points.

hitman

Use any means necessary to dispose of your target

It's brilliantly designed in that if you don't care at all about score and rank, you can freely kill all enemies in the level until you reach your final target. Those looking for the competitive edge however will truly have to get creative in order to score the maximum amount of points. However there is incentive to get a good score. Attaining a certain score threshold will grant you various permanent perks that will make Agent 47 an even bigger force to reckoned with.

In addition, the completely genius Contracts mode gives players the ability to make up these goals, challenge themselves or even let the community try them out. You mark the targets, you define the goals, literally everything is up to you. This not only adds a true sandbox feature to the game, but extends its playtime drastically.

hitman

The last image your victim will ever see

Absolution also looks absolutely amazing. The amount of detail not just in the characters, but in the level design, truly shows the amount of dedication and love that went into creating the game. Levels are generally multi-tiered. For example, during the hotel mission, you'll first be tasked to get to the 8th floor unnoticed. After some events transpire, you'll find yourself on the rooftops escaping from the feds, eventually making your way into a very groovy marijuana plant. Once again, each of these segments has multiple ways of going about them, and its up to you to discover them all.

Hitman: Absolution marks a superb comeback for Agent 47. With polished controls and immense replayability, this is one hit job you're going to want to take on.

You've gotta be kidding me, Far Cry 3 has tea bagging as a 'final move'

Far Cry 3 Image

In many first-person shooters, tea bagging is performed during the actual match. For those unfamiliar, the act is performed usually after you kill someone; you run over to their corpse and crouch over it repeatedly, essentially "tea bagging" them.

It's not 100% certain where tea bagging originated, the video game industry has welcomed it with open arms for some odd reason. Franchise like Halo and Call of Duty have certainly embraced it, although 343 Industries recently renamed it the "victory crouch" in Halo 4.

Ubisoft, on the other hand, has not only adopted tea bagging, but has taken the act to a whole new level in Far Cry 3. In the multiplayer trailer, which was released earlier this week, tea bagging was shown as one of the acts you can perform as the "final move" after a multiplayer match.

The clip very briefly showed the top player of the winning team humiliating the best player of the losing team. The character repeatedly crouches over the loser while the other winning players stand over him and laugh.

Although I recognize the history of tea bagging in video games, it seems the devs for Far Cry 3 have taken it to a new level by actually including it as a "final move". It's one thing if a player does it using the actions in the game, but for the developers to sit there and actually create the animations just seems a little tacky to me.

Personally, I've never been a fan of the whole act of tea bagging. Why do people feel the need to purposefully humiliate another player? There's enough unwarranted hate online that we don't need to intentionally add more. Where do you stand...or crouch...on the whole tea bagging debate?

Check out the multiplayer trailer here.

Review: Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two isn't all that epic

Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two Image

Disney's Epic Mickey 2 is rightfully named The Power of Two because it truly shows the impact a second player can have on your experience. Having played the game both alone and with a buddy, I can say it is definitely better with two players. It's not that Oswald is completely dumbfounded when controlled by the AI, but he does fail to respond as quickly as, say, a human would. It's even more telling that the game was designed for two players based on the fact that throughout the game Gus gives directions to Oswald -- regardless of the fact that he's being controlled by AI.

Epic Mickey 2

For puzzles, Oswald is more than capable of holding up his end of the deal. When you finally figure out what you need to do, Oswald will be right there to supply energy to a control box or turn a gear with you. It's when you encounter enemies that Oswald's glaring weaknesses are revealed.

When fighting waves of enemies, Oswald is often found doing his own thing -- running around in circles mindlessly and occasionally coming to the rescue once you "die." After a while, he does get the idea that you need his help, but that's after a few minutes of you battling alone. Oswald's incompetence is really exemplified in boss fights. Most boss fights require you and Oswald to work together -- you spraying the boss with paint or thinner and Oswald shocking something to stun them. During these boss fights, you might as well be alone, as Oswald is slow to react -- either in stunning the boss or coming to your aid to revive you. Oswald's apathetic behavior makes for extremely frustrating boss fights and combat sequences -- especially with how unforgiving some of the fights are.

Epic Mickey 2

I must point out that in Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, you have very little health. While the game does supply an adequate amount of places where you can regenerate your health, I often found myself a victim of "cheap deaths." I rarely use this term to describe deaths in games, as I realize the majority of time it really is the player's fault. However, in The Power of Two, with thinner literally erasing parts of the level, one hit can compound into several hits, resulting in a loss of several health bars before you even have a chance to react. In the final boss fight -- which takes place on a circular, rotating level -- I found myself being hit once, falling into the thinner, and then jumping to get out but landing in the other missing block and back into thinner.

Like I said, Oswald's incompetence only really hinders the combat portion of the game. The rest of Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is comprised of fairly straightforward puzzles with portions of platforming and 2D sidescrolling. If you are not the puzzle-type of gamer, The Power of Two spells out everything you must do with the help of your navigator, Gremlin Gus. Some might find this to be too revealing, but I welcomed Gus' generous handholding.

The platforming in The Power of Two is extremely simplistic and generic; that's because the goal isn't to challenge you, but rather to encourage you to explore Wasteland. Over the past few months, we've heard game creator Warren Spector preach about "playing your way." The game is designed to let you explore and experience it how you want to play. The "story" can be as long or as short as you want it to be based on the amount of time you spend exploring Wasteland's nooks and crannies.

Power of Two

Speaking of story, The Power of Two is a direct sequel to 2010's Epic Mickey. Unfortunately, the original was only released for the Wii, so only select individuals were able to experience that original story. In this game, the Mad Doctor returns to Wasteland claiming to have realized the error of his ways and offering his help to the residents of Wasteland following a series of recent earthquakes.

Not trusting the Mad Doctor, Gus the Gremlin (Oswald's adviser) and Ortensia (Oswald's girlfriend/wife) contact Mickey Mouse to ask for his help. Mickey and Oswald then set off on an adventure through Wasteland to uncover the real purpose of the Mad Doctor's return. It's a fairly straightforward plot; however, elements of it can be lost to someone new to the franchise. There's a little recap of what happened in the prior episode -- aside from a brief cinematic and short song -- so you really have no idea about many of the characters or creatures you encounter throughout the game.

Epic Mickey 2 The Power of Two

As I mentioned, The Power of Two and Spector's "play style matters" design lets you experience the world of Wasteland how you want. Gus does serve as a nice guide for where you need to go next, but how you get there is totally up to you. For the majority of the game I felt lost in Wasteland, but at the end, I ended up where I needed to be. In most cases there are at least two ways to end up at the final destination, and it's up to you to uncover them. Most of the time, you'll be given the option of two choices in which you must decide, but be warned, each choice does have a "consequence." The consequences are hardly noticeable, but I will say that upon completing the story I was missing three of the 15-or-so cinematics (maybe I would've unlocked them had I chosen something else?). That's still to be explored.

Beyond the main story, there's still plenty to do in The Power of Two. There are pins to collect, costumes to unlock, and concept art to find, so even if you finish the story -- which is rather short -- you won't find a lack of things to keep you busy afterwards. With that being said, Wasteland -- despite its potential -- doesn't really provide an intriguing place to want to continue exploring after the story is completed.

Epic Mickey 2

In terms of environment, as most of you know, Wasteland is a place for forgotten Disney toons. However, most of the environments are unrecognizable to the less-hardcore Disney fan. The lands are inspired by Disney attractions, but unless you're an older fan who appreciates the history of Disney, it's very likely that the lands in The Power of Two will seem like nothing more than waste. Although there are a few things you'll immediately recognize from a more modern Disney, such as the Snow White and the Seven Dwarves rock carving in Rainbow Caverns, the majority of the land seems like a strange, robotic world you could find in any other game.

Some of the best environmental experiences in the game happen to be in the 2D sidescrolling portion. To travel from land to land, you must traverse through a 2D environment inspired by classic Disney shorts. The themes of these films and the contents of the level change depending on where your traveling, resulting in some of the most aesthetically pleasing environments and fun gameplay in the The Power of Two. Unfortunately, your time spent in these areas is very brief.

sidescrolling epic mickey 2

As mentioned above, Junction Point kept true to their word with Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, but they did little to really make this game stand out. Yes, the characters do have voices and there are musical numbers in the game, but some of the voices are painfully annoying, and the few songs are all sang by one character; it's very disappointing. It's also quite frustrating hearing the same line repeated over and over during fights and boss encounters (maybe they were better off silent). Yes, the camera angle is MUCH better, but there are still times when your view puts you at a disadvantage -- especially with boss fights. And yes, the game features drop-in/drop-out co-op, which I highly suggest you take advantage of due to Oswald's AI weakness.

The reality is that Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two really isn't that epic at all. The overall gameplay, experience, and adventure is lackluster. The game stayed true to its promises, but failed to eclipse expectations. It almost feels like Junction Point did just enough to get by with this one. The new features are nice, but for every change there are still glaring weaknesses highlighting the improvements that still need to be made.

Humbug 2 walkthroughThe clever prisoner Ziggy is back in Humbug 2, yet another platformer puzzle game from pixel continuous. As usual, the genius author of this game once again tries to bend the logic of videos games with his cleverness. You are convict here that needs to escape to freedom but you are confined in not so regular prison where everything seems to be strange. Think out of the box and don't let your eyes fool you.

Anyways, since I know that you came here for the solutions to the mind numbing puzzles this game has. So here is Humbug 2 guide demonstrating how to beat the game.

Where and how to find the hidden items in Humbug 2 written guide:

There is a gem that can be found on the menu screen. Just above the poster there is an arrow drawn on the brick wall. Click the brick to the very right of the arrow tip a bunch of times until the blue diamond falls off.

On stage 4, go to the vending machine and key in the following code: 5369. After you enter the code press space to interact with the area where it says 'unlocked'.

On stage 6, you must have the pole-ax and walk in exact time with the knights. I repeat, in the very exact time with the knights.

In stage 8, when you are floating up using the balloon turn your power to zero in order to receive the harp. When you reach the angel you will need to put your power back up so you live once more and take the harp. Restart the level to get out of the scene.

On stage 12, after you pull the brick out from the turret quickly press Q to pause. Then place the brick so you can jump on it and pull out another brick from the turret. Your objective is to climb to the top of the level and get the white diamond from the cloud hanging on the far right.

On level 13, you must pause the game just when the bridge has been drawn halfway. Then climb halfway up the clock-tower to jump onto the bridge and get the bat. You can then press Q again to resume the game so you may proceed.

On level 16, at the very beginning of the level, jump up and down eight times in a row. You must do this at the very start of the level.

That's all folks. Also see Humbug walkthrough, the original version which is equally challenging as this one.

'Sequel or prequel' for Mass Effect 4?

To contact us Click HERE
Mass Effect 3 Image

When it comes to the next Mass Effect game, BioWare has been quite open with fans — at least as open as you can expect to see from a development studio owned by EA. We already know BioWare is working on Mass Effect 4, but what exactly will it be about?

That seems to be the million dollar question, and one that BioWare themselves haven't even answered yet. Which could be why they are interested in hearing what fans want.

Over on Twitter, Mass Effect series producer Casey Hudson asked fans what they would be more interested in: a prequel or a sequel?

"Parsing through your thoughts on the next #ME game. Would you be more interested in a game that takes place before the trilogy, or after?", he wrote.

It's certainly not an easy question to answer as both choices would have their own complications in terms of the already-established series lore. While the timer period is still in question, one very important decision has already been made; Commander Shepard will definitely not be in the next Mass Effect game.

Last week, BioWare revealed Mass Effect 4 would run on the Frostbite engine and that the studio is "exploring new directions, both on the gameplay and story fronts."

Disney Epic Mickey: The Power of Illusion Image

It's hard to keep up with the latest Nintendo downloads when you've got so much gaming news to take care of. As a result of a lot of other stuff going on, our Nintendo download recap had to take a backseat. But regardless of that fact, here it is just a couple of days late. Because I know just how important every single downloadable Nintendo game is to the lot of ya.

The first game on hand in the 3DS eShop is American Mensa Academy, an edutainment title priced at $29.99. Due out on Sunday is Disney Epic Mickey: The Power of Illusion for $39.99, but you can also score the 2D platformer on the eShop that day. Hotel Transylvania is an action-platformer that will run you $29.99. Then there's Monster Shooter, a game where you shoot monsters, for $6.99. Last is Myst, an old school-looking adventure game, which is available for $29.99.

It seems we've only got two games on the DSiWare side of things. First is Jump Trials, a platformer that requires you to tackle challenges in 10 seconds. That one will cost you 200 DSi Points ($1.99 on the eShop). Not going to lie, the game looks kind of cool, but I probably still won't play it. There's also Working Dawgs: A-Maze-ing Pipes, which showcases dogs doing manual labor. This game comes bundled with a stupid title and a 200 DSi Points ($1.99 on the eShop) asking price.

Publisher XSEED Games has revealed that The Last Story is its most successful game to date. Having launched back in August, it's insane to see the game rise so quickly. That said, given the fan demand and the fact that The Last Story was created by Hironobu Sakaguchi of Final Fantasy fame, this news isn't too surprising.

To commemorate the huge success, XSEED announced that standalone copies of The Last Story — those are the ones without the awesome art book and sexy case — are now available for $29.99. Of course, if you do find a premium edition copy, you can purchase it for $39.99, which is still quite wallet-friendly.

The Last Story is easily one of the best RPGs I've played in recent memory, if not the best, and it's also one of the best games I've played all year. Of course, you can read some more praise from yours truly in my review. If you haven't already played The Last Story and consider yourself a fan of grand RPGs, definitely check it out.

The sale, which begins today and runs until Sunday, offers discounts on certain items from the Gem Store. Each day three different items will be discounted up to 70% off, but each sale only lasts 24 hours.

ArenaNet didn't say which items will be discounted so you'll have to log into the game to see the great deals. I suppose it's kind of like going to the actual store to see the sales.
